The Meaning of Life – BBC1 10.15pm sundays

January 23, 2007

Enjoyed watching this programme last weekend >> “Documentary series which offers some entertaining, original and thought-provoking theories as to how we got here, why and what happens when it’s all over.

Contributors including John Lydon, Fern Britton, John Humphrys, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Bill Oddie, Dame Kelly Holmes and Alan Titchmarsh give their thoughts on their own childhood beliefs such as Santa and the tooth fairy, and how hard it was to sort out the meaning from the mumbo jumbo.”

It’s on a similar vein to ‘Grumpy Old Men / Women,’ featuring narration by Dawn French and often humourous insights from the talking heads.

  1. So, the meaning of life is to decorate your house and landscape your garden? I knew it.

Quite amused by the comments about where babies come from, “Oh we found you nestling in a bush and your sister inside a pomegranate.” The lengths some parents will go to to avoid talking about sex.

  2. What exactly did the political figures believe could happen to the actual credit standing when these guys act similar to poker players with our economic system? they’ve functioned much like spoiled teens and must be grateful they are not swinging from lightposts because of their diabolical behaviour.
