The greatest person ever to walk the earth

October 12, 2005

The other day, my best friend said that I am the greatest person to ever walk the earth. I said, it was probably more likely to be Gandhi, Mother Theresa or what’s that guy’s name again? He wore sandals, and had long hair and went around telling stories about how we should love one another….Who do you regard as the greatest person ever and why do you hold them in such high esteem? Have they improved your life or inspired you somehow?

  1. “These are profound at best…
Here’s my answer from the left field…

I think I am the greatest person to walk the earth.
A bold and arrogant statement you might think but hear me out and see if this resonates with you.

I believe in myself and am true to myself.
I hold myself responsible for my actions.
    No-one let’s me down because I won’t let them.
I choose whether or not to be influenced by others.
I rely on myself and and my experiences to live in the now.
I am always right, from my viewpoint (and learn from others constantly which has influenced me to a better way of thinking)

Now here’s the oxymoron, yang, bit.

I love and respect all life around me.
I share love willingly and enjoy and revel in love being reciprocated.
I believe we are all equal as living beings and have gifts and talents that are more or less of some degree of experience. (This is a discussion in its own right)
I don’t look for facts, I look for feelings.

Life is a journey and I enjoy it with others and they make it rewarding because they too are sharers.
    Energy begets energy.

Most of all I love balance and I practise that daily to some form or another and seek constantly to resonate with others by tuning in. (I’m not always successful)

I change nothing but myself and if something changes as a result of that then that is a transformation.”

  2. “Mohammed Ali.

Who else could get Will Smith to bulk up and play him in a biopic? Look what playing Jesus did for Robert Powell’s career!

(No, really, Mohammed Ali. Like Nelson Mandela, a man ahead of his time and the consensus.)”

    David Hodgkinson

  3. “James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich & Kurt Cobain are some of the most greatest people to have walked this earth. Their musical talent has brought understanding and joy to many.

John Logeyberd (inventor of TV), Einstein (electricity), Hendy Ford (car) & the chap who invented the telephone…we take it for granted the tools that they invented for us. They have provided us with information and saved us time.”

  4. “John Logeyberd (inventor of TV), Einstein (electricity), Hendy Ford (car) & the chap who invented the telephone…we take it for granted the tools that they invented for us. They have provided us with information and saved us time.”

Absolutely, I was thinking that everyone owes a great deal of gratitude to the man who invented the internet. Do you know his name? Will have to go and look it up…..on the internet, see infinite possibilities… From agorophobics to sheer lazy people, being able to shop online, access information and transfer money doesn’t half make life easier.

  5. There are 2 words that close this discussion, 2 respect demanding, fear enducing, jealousy manufacturing words. Those words…..
    CHUCK NORRIS

  6. The greatest person the walk the earth would surely require some one who has had a lasting positive effect.

Theres religious figures – Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad
    Theres politicol Leasers – Gandhi

Logeybaird and Henry Ford are not even in the same league.

i’d say it would be Buddha (theres been no crusades or jihad’s in his name – and buddhism has generally brought peace and religous tolerance for thousands of years)

  7. I’m sorry guys the greatest person to have ever lived was Charles Darwin, his theory gives all rational people the knowledge that religion is wrong.

  8. I m THE best !!
    b’Coz I beieve me.
I do what I want ..and I am al ways correct.
    I don’t believe….I look or belief

  9. im sorry guys but the best person to ever walk the earth has to be

    BRUCE LEE
    HANDS DOWN
    IDC WHAT YOU GUYS SAY
    BECAUSE IF YOU SAY OTHERWISE
    YOU ARE WRONG
HE IS THE ALL TIME BEST

  10. For me, i think there isnt 1 single greatest person. Heres a list of people i think are great, and have helped move forward towards a brighter future:
    – Nelson Mandela
    – Ghandi
    – Obama
    – Charles Darwin
    – William Shakespeare
    – Karl Marx
    – Sigmund Freud
    – Einstein
    – Cogito ergo sum
    – John lennon

If you agree / disagree, please let me know what you think.
If you have no idea who some of these people are, look them up , and teach yourself something.

  11. u guys dont know what your talking about
Bruce Lee was the best and i mean the best
dont argue im right your wrong no matter what you say about the best person in the world is wrong unless its about !!!!! BRUCE LEE

  12. Every discussion on the subject of great human beings should begin and end with the name Norman Borlaug.

  13. what about the julius caesar, augustus, aggememnon, plato and all the other true historical figures not jus those from the last 200 years

  14. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W)

as people are great, like prophet Isa (Jesus), etc. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was the greatest, due to his personality, peace of mind, power, his way of life.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) ARE THE GREATEST PERSON TO LIVE.

  15. The greatest person to have walked on the earth will have to be the one who helped the mankind the most. The one who would do anything for mankind. For each and every human being. Who even would die for them, die for every human being on the face of the earth and also for those who are yet to be born. And even after 2010 years his teachings delivers people. As far as i know, there is only person. You figure it out.

  16. I do not believe that there is one single person, but a number of them.
    – Ghandi
    – Nelson Mandela
    – John Lennon
    – Mother Theresa
    – Martin Luther King Jr.
    – Lady Diana Spencer
    – Albert Einstein
    – JFK
    – All the soldiers out fighting in Afghanistan \

I feel like I’m forgetting someone.. you know.. like, someone REALLY important… someone that I shouldn’t be forgetting.. oh. right. yeah. of course. Chuck Norris.

  17. This discussion might me old but there really is only one answer that was correct. Look above… Norman Borlaug. If you haven’t heard of him please look him up. Nobody has walked the planet greater than this man. Feel humbled to know he existed…

  18. I think we must not rate anyone higher or lower. Nobody is the greatest person on earth. So, gandhi=Einstein=Teresa=mandela-budda-every other person=me. This is assuming that we are all equal in age.

  19. Jesus Christ was the greatest person to ever walk the earth because unlike all the other people mentioned he gave his life for all of us and loved us back.

  20. Let's face it, all those people that were mentioned haven't had the same influence as Muhammad. Not only was he a political leader, he was a teacher, a role model, a man whom his name and story should be familiar to you no matter what your faith is. I highly recommend you read his biography.

  21. The whole universe was created through Jesus and for Jesus. Don't fool yourself. You will die, your name will be quickly forgotten, but He will remain as King over this world, whether large amounts of people follow Him or not, though currently one third of the world professes faith in Him, around 2.2 billion people, which is quite a lot.
If you seriously have read Jesus & despise Him still, be afraid, that you are despising the most glorious, the most beautiful, the highest person who is. And I truly feel sorrow for you, for I love Him more than all the world. I have seen His glory, and it has both satisfied me, and left me longing for more!
"God has highly exalted Jesus and given Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Paul from the Bible in Philippians 2
